Today let’s do something exciting! We’re going to dig deeper into the
BYS Special Edition of Glamourbox.
To give you an idea…Glamourbox is one of the 4 curated/subscription boxes here
in the Philippines. Curated boxes are actual boxes full of magical surprise items inside (Most of the time, you don’t
know what’s in the box). You’ll get full and sample sized items and get to try different
brands, both beuty & makeup products depending on the month’s theme. The good deal guys is,
you get to purchase them 2x to 3x cheaper than the “mall price”. Let’s take my
BYS Subscription as the perfect example, I bought the box for P1, 100.00, the
actual cost of the products inside when bought in the mall would be P2, 900.00
(further explanation later haha). I don’t know how Glamourbox is doing it but
they are for real!
So far I have tried the Glamourbox out of all the available boxes here
in the country. I subscribed to their BYS Special Edition, it is their
September 2015 box I think where you get 6 full sized items – all from the
makeup brand BYS (BeYourSelf). An observation from Glamourbox, they don’t create monthly
boxes, sometimes they skip a month before the next box release. I really wish they'll make this awesomeness monthly. Anyway, I think they have the #BYSmattemaven box available now…check them out

Sadly, this
box is already sold out BUT they do have physical stores here, I found one at
SM Pampanga and I am pretty sure that other malls have this brand so no worries…you’ll be able to buy the things I’ll be showing you

1. BYS Nail Polish – Subscribers can get this one in different shades. I got mine in…Blue Hawaii (if I'm not mistaken, to be honest I forgot to check). It’s a rich blue shade with silver streaks. The silver doesn’t really show when applied but it is definitely present. It has a glossy-metallic finish. I love it because it compliments my skin tone. This will look great on
fair skin.
2. BYS Brow Definition Kit – This quad came with a black, a dark
brown, a cream shade and brow wax. Well…this brow palette is a so-so thing for
me. I mean I love the dark brown shade because it is so pigmented, it can completely cover and fill out my brows, it’s the best for me actually (I
haven’t tried enough brow products actually to give a comparison) but the black and cream shades...no use for me. The idea for having 2 more shades is for you
to mix and match them and create your prefect brow color. I just find myself reaching
more for the dark brown because it perfectly matches my hair color. Rule of the thumb, use 1 to 2 shades lighter than your hair color if you're dark haired, the black is too dark for me and the cream does totally nothing. I tend to
use the black one for a smokey eye look and
the cream as an eyeshadow base. I don’t reach for the wax often because I don’t really have unruly brows (well, not for now).
3. BYS Matte Lipstick – This is the 2nd product I am
excited about (2nd to the palette). First, it’s red, second, it’s matte and third…it’s a lipstick. It was ok, I don’t
like it but I don’t also hate it. I have standards for lipstick matte-ness.
This one isn’t so matte for me. Kulang pa eh, wala pa siya sa ganung level. I
can still see glossiness in this one. But the pigment? It’s PIGMENTED! It is just
red red and red. I just have issues with the packaging, uhm, being the clumsy
girl that I am, my lipstick should never show up on the lid, kapag nakausli or lampas yung actual lipstick sa lid, hirap na hirap akong buksan at isara. It feels like shooting a
thread in a needle. Hence, my lipstick have so many shaved parts and bumps
huhu :(
That's the "lampas sa lid" I was talking about. It's so hard to close and open :(

4. BYS Blush Duo – I got mine
in the shade Paint it Pink. OK, one thing, it’s sooooo PINK, I can’t find a more perfect name than “Paint it
Pink” like….really?! Haha
I don’t find myself reaching often for these shades of
pink because it’s so loud. I prefer those with coral-y…peachy shade. You need a
really really really light hand to be
able to pull this off. You may need supurb brush control and I don't have that skill. Make sure to tap it
off first, don't apply directly on your cheeks…from there slowly build it
up. These brightness-goodness is perfect for summer.
It can get really powdery so be careful

5. BYS Contour Trio Palette in the shade Sweet - This is another
love-hate product for me. It’s really hard to find one palette and love
everything included in there. You either love 2 shades and hate one or hate two
pans but can’t live without the other. I love the peachy blush! These are the kind of shades that I reach to more often, I use this every single day. I just think that these types are easier to match, apply and "erase" when things get uncontrollable. It also lasts a couple of hours on my cheeks. It’s
pigmented enough to actually show and it's buildable too. The problem is…I’m not
very impressed with the bronzer, I mean it’s ok…I still have to try it out maybe. It
just feels like I have to swipe it hundred times to make it work. I am having problems
with its pigmentation, it just won’t show on my skin :( The most hated though is the
highlighter. Like really BYS!? It's a highlighter…something to give
me that glow, something shimmery, not a face powder. It’s not a highlighter at all,
it’s a pressed powder. The product is so powdery and has no shimmer in it :( Anyway…I love love
love the blush. End of story :)

6. BYS Nude Eyeshadow Palette in Nude 1 – Let’s save the best for last
right? This is definitely the star of the Box. I am so glad I got the Nude 1…I mean we should start with the first one right?
Feeling ko lang kasi I’ll have the urge to buy the Nude 1 if I’ll have the Nude 2
first hahaha impulsive like that.
This palette alone is worth Php1, 200.00 and the box is worth P1,
100.00. Again, I don’t know how they’re doing that hahaha. This palette has 12
shades, mixture of mattes and shimmers. It is pigmented! You get perfect shades
for day time and night time look. I think they are dupes for the Urban Decay
Naked 1 (that is very expensive and not locally available). Have these neutrals
and you’re good to go. One thing though, it doesn't have a mirror, no mirrors on all the products actually.

I am planning on Purchasing the BYS Matte Maven (current box)…just cause I love
mattes but…yes I still have to consult my ATM huhuhahahihi. Christmas is fast
