RaiTries: My "No Makeup" Makeup Look

Hi Guys!

Let's try something different today, makeup tutorial!

Well, I don't consider this a tutorial actually...more like...merely sharing my makeup routine because this is so easy and I know you also have your own version of the this look...we all do.

The "No Makeup" Makeup look is your Go To look. It's something you wear when you're feeling lazy or if you're just keeping it simple. Something you do on a daily basis ;) Now this is my version. This is something I throw on when I'm just running errands or if I'm too lazy to put on makeup but I still want something in my face (para naman presentable ako tignan because I am pale...unhealthy pale, that's why I still need a little something).

The makeup product I will be showing vary depending on the season, weather, activity or mood. I change the makeup items from time to time just so I can maximize everything in my makeup stash. But it all boils down to the look I will be sharing with you. For example, I do use different BB creams on a weekly basis but in the end...my "no makeup" makeup look looks exactly the same. You get what I mean!

Let's begin!

Now this is my face without anything. Bags are black, pale lips etsetera etsetera.

I never forget moisturizer. I do have an oily skin but I still put on moisturizer because usually, after bath, I get ugly dry patches which makes the BB cream/foundation cake-y and uneven...Moisturizer is the solution!

Primer for the base especially during office days where I need my foundation to last all day. For this look, I used Pond's Flawless White BB cream (P299.00, I will do a review soon!).

BB Creams are generally lighter than foundations. They don't smudge, they last the whole day and they have additional benefits like SPF, whitening, anti-aging etc. So yeah...BB creams are my thing as far as "No makeup" makeup look is concern.

NOTE: It is very very important to find your shade (not too light or not too dark) to make it look natural, chose a shade very similar to your neck...and don't forget to include your neck in your foundation application.

Pea size will do! See? As if I'm wearing nothing! It hides redness and few blemishes but it's no way near the typical makeup mistake...FOUNDATION DAY EVERYDAY thing.

Concealing is important. It makes you look awake even if you pulled an all-nighter last night. It hides pimple marks and brightens your undereye. Make sure to find a good concealer, something that doesn't cake or doesn't crease or doesn't smudge. Bye bye black bags!

For this one, I used a brow pencil. Outline your brows and fill in "gaps" then brush/comb them until they're blended and even. Keep it simple! You don't want to put dark and heavy arched brows because that is not natural (mukang drawing)! I, most often, skip this step. But it does make a difference!

For the eyes, I filled in my lash line first with a black eyeliner so that my eyes would look wider and more awake. Then I curled my very very very scarce and short lashes then put on a natural looking mascara :) You don't want to put something heavy to prevent the spider legs look. Let's keep it natural guys ;)

For this look, I used natural looking rose-neutral-pink matte colors. I don't suggest very shimmery, glittery, pigmented shadows because that would definitely show and that would totally ruin your "natural" look . I used the Urban Decay's Naked 3 palette. This is espensiiiiive and not locally available. BUT! I found a dupe :)

The Nudes from LA Girl. This is worth P499.00 (mall price) if I'm not mistaken but of course I bought this online for P380.00. Good deal if you're looking for a rose-y palette. They're pretty similar in color...quality is a different story.

I used STRANGE all over my lid, this is my base :) No transition shades, no other shiz, just the base.

Then I added NOONER on the sides of my lid up to the crease. This matte color is a FAVE! Then that's it :) I totally skip this step when I'm feeling extra lazy :)

Blush this time. In my opinion, mouse-y blushes and tints tend to give you the more natural look comparing it to powder blushes. They stay on your cheeks like they're part of your being hahaha. Cheek tints are long lasting and very natural looking. It gives you that sun kissed look in my opinion :) Korean brands have THE best lip and cheek tints ever ever ever. Make sure to blend it fast though.

No Makeup Makeup? LIPBALM! Tinted lipbalms give you the most natural looking lips. Balms are also healthy, you know, break from all the chemically lip products. I go for the cherry and strawberry tinted balms because they're perfect for my lips ;) The Revlon Colorbusrt balms in #145 looks also nice. Your "lips-but-better" lipstick would be perfect. I have so many choices, we'll never finish this blog kung iisa isahin ko sila.

Finally, the finishing powder. If you want to keep it dewy (moist looking) you can totally skip this step. But it is extra hot today so yes...I will put powder to prevent excessive oil. You can use whatever loose powder you have.

TADAAAAA! My "No Makeup" Makeup look! :) Looks like I don't have anything in mah face (in my opinion).

So yeah, that completes the look! Share your thoughts on this one and also your routine :) Hope you enjoyed!

Always remember...BE BEAUTIFUL, BE YOU!

Lots and lots of love,

Raisa

PS. Apologies for the selfies. Hahaha

RaiTries: Maybelline Color Sensational Lipsticks

Hi Guys!

When I was starting my "makeup collection", Maybelline was having a promo, buy any 2 and get one product free. I knew what I wanted to stack first in my collection. LIPSTICKS! Having the promo, I did a little "damage". I bought few lipsticks from Maybelline and today I will show you different lips swatches of what I have.

Not quite sure if they are ALL called color sensational but yeah let's stick to that. I don't have many, I just have 7. Maybelline holds a lot...and i mean A WHOLE BUNCH of lipstick shades. They range from your everyday neutrals to your party popping colors. I picked those that I can wear from a day to day basis (of course!) and also I made sure that I have at least one from each collection.

The ones I have are from their regular line, So Nude collection, Bold Matte collection and the Rebel Bouquet collection. I'm pretty sure that is everything they have as far as the Color Sensational collection goes.

Where to Buy: Any maybelline booths nationwide. Watsons, Department Stores (all malls I guess), etc. It's almost everywhere so no problem :)

Price: Retails for P299.00 each. BUT! Maybelline is having a "crazy sale" until December 31, 2015, each retails for only P250.00 so you better hurry hahaha

Amount: 4.2 grams (that's a lot!)

Packaging: I like the packaging. I love that Maybelline stayed with the same packaging despite the color and collection differences. Although the lipstick cap won't indicate the actual color of the lipstick so don't be fooled. Make sure to swatch it first in the booths to get a better idea of the color.

Scent: The scent of the older line (their regular ones) are almost like the Colourpop Lippie Stix, Vanilla sweet scent. I like it too :) But the So Nudes, Bold Mattes and Rebel Bouquet collection have no significant smell, that is actually a good thing than having a chemical scented lipstick. Nothing bad about the scent actually :)

Application: Very smooth especially for the glossy finishes. What I don't like about the non-matte formulas though is that they emphasized my dry patches. I have very very very dry lips and they're sensitive too :( And the lipsticks tend to emphasize those patches a bit especially when applied lightly. You have to swipe it few more times to "hide" the dry patches. I suggest you use lip balm before applying the lipstick to prevent flaking and dryness. And because they're "lispticks" they don't last all day. You have to reapply it especially after eating or drinking.

Coverage: Coverage is ok, It is build-able especially for the neutral colors. The popping colors like the corals and reds are very pigmented. No problem with the pigmentation.

Warning: Just like the Etude house lipsticks, some are very creamy. Do not expose them to hot/warm temperatures, they melt. I had problems with it, the lipstick is very moist and soft...it actually sticks to the lipstick case (I'm sorry I'm not good at explaining things)

That's what I meant :( Dumidikit siya sa gilid sa sobrang lambot niya.

Anyway, let's begin!

1. Regular line Color Sensational Lipstick - I just have 2 shades from this collection. I think I have THE best!

a. #430/Magnificent Mauve - Purple mauve-y shade. Perfect both for day and night time look :) While this might look scary from the outside, once swatched or applied...It is actually just your regular violet mauve shade. It is buildable so you can go sheer and simple, few swipes more you'll be sexy and glamorous. I don't have anything similar to this shade in my stash.

b. #235/Warm Me Up - Out of the 7...this is a favorite! It's a go to thing for me. It's my prefect nude and I just feel right when I am wearing this one. It's a nude-brown shade that looks very elegant. This is perfect for Bold eyes.

Oh I love it!

2. So Nude Color Sensational Lipstick - I got 2 shades from this collection :) I just thought that the So Nudes collection have vary close/similar shades. no "same" shades though but color range are very very close from one another you almost can't distinguish the difference of one from the rest.

a. NU37 - Well...it's uhm...almost melted but moving on. It's a nude pink shade. It is my go to shade when I just wanna keep it simple or if I just have a minute to touch up.

b. NU35S - Very similar to NU37 but no...it nude-er. NU37 is more pink than this one. NU35S, in my opinion, is a nude coral with a hint of brown. It is paler than the NU37 that is why I don't reach for this more than the NU37.

3. Rebel Bouquet Color Sensational - I have 2 from this collection. I think Maybelline wanted something similar to floral colors? Ok. I'm not sure! haha

a. REB01 - This is very similar to the famous MAC Ruby Woo...but it is not matte. Color-wise? They're the same. Romantic, sophisticated red it is.

b. REB06 - Another nude. Think I have thousands of these. This might be in the middle of NU35S and NU37. It is very sheer and soft, you have to swipe few more times to get the actual color.

4. Bold Matte Color Sensational lipstick - They have the most pigmented bold pinks in this collection. I only have one (just really wanted to try their matte-ness). Packaging is the same but the cap feels like felt that actually defined its difference from the non-mattes.

a. MAT2 - this might be the most "quiet" shade they have and it's still crazy coral. They have really really pink pinks in this collection. While it might look scary on the outside...you can really pull this off nicely especially in the summer. But for me, it's still not matte, it still has a bit shimmer.

\

Final thoughts: I've had these for 4 months now and no problem so far. But if these babies are scheduled (yes I schedule my lipsticks per week) for the week...I make sure I don't miss petroleum jelly at night or application of lip balm before the actual lipstick because if not? it would emphasize dry patches of my lips and it looks really disgusting. But once lip balm is applied...everything will be ok. I had no problems with the packaging or the scent also. These are one of those lipsticks where you need to reapply within the day. They are very moisturizing and creamy that is why you need to properly store them to avoid any melting, etc. Yes, I will continue using these babies :)

That's it guys. Make sure to grab one or two while the sale is on going! :)

Always remember...BE BEAUTIFUL, BE YOU!

Lots and lots of love,

Raisa
