I am so so happy because finally I'm doing a product review. For today...RaiTries the "legendary" Revlon Colorstay 24-hours liquid foundation :)
I personally think that Revlon is rocking the boat when it comes to liquid foundations, Revlon Photoready and Revlon Nearly Naked are few of their famous foundations. They simply have the best (in my opinion) drugstore foundations, one of which is today's product: Revlon Colorstay 24-hours Liquid Foundation. I have heard many many many good reviews on this product that is why I decided to finally buy and try it.
Where to buy: Any Revlon booth (Department stores, drugstores like Watsons, etc.) or through online shops/sellers
Price: P825.00 (A drugstore product in Western Countries but a bit pricey here the Phils). Online shops are waaaay cheaper...you can actually purchase P600.00...just keep searching.
Amount: 30ml
Packaging: Glass with black cap, no pump :(
Scent: Nothing disturbing, it may sound weird but it actually smells like a feminine wash haha, it has a fresh scent which I love.
Application: Very smooth and light weight, it actually glides on the face. I had no problems with it because it applies evenly.
Coverage: Medium to full coverage. It's buildable :)
Routine for the day: Pampanga (work) to Meycauayan City to Manila (Commute home to work), Random errands after work, played with the dogs, etc. :)
Weather: Sunny (super init today! Well palagi naman)
Function/claims: This type of foundation is meant for oily to combination skin (perfect for me!), suppose to give you a shine free/matte finish. Wears for up to 24 hours, gives you a flawless look and is light weight...Hmmm let's see!
I got the shade Golden Beige, it's literally my "skin but better" foundation.
The shade is just perfect
Starting with moisturizer, ofcourse, to prevent dryness and flaking (actually I do have an oily skin). Today I'm using the Snail Recovery Gel Cream of Mizon (I love this too!)
Applied mine using The Real Techniques Sculpting Brush, you can use a sponge or your fingers too :)
Careful...it is a bit runny and liquid-y, a little goes a long way :) Too bad it doesn't have a pump.
This side is bare faced. Visible redness (side of the nose) and blemishes, also few pimple marks :(
This side with the Revlon Colorstay Foundation. Visibly covered my redness and flaws!
I am so glad I got the right shade (Golden Beige) :) Shade selection is actually a hit or miss on some foundations.
Also a plus point because they have a wide variety of shades. (Time check: 7:00 A.M.)
I'm sorry. I actually feel so embarrassed because I have to post this one but this is the most decent picture so we'll have to deal with it ok? hahahaha really hard to sneak a selfie at work, anyway... it's 11:30 A.M. there, almost lunch time, and yes OIL is building up. But the foundation is still visible, there's minimal redness, blush is still present (sorry you can't see). I have terrible oil problems, 11:30 A.M. is actually a long time for a foundation to stay on me because of all the oil I am excreting.
I retouched once, with the Revlon Nearly Naked pressed powder after blotting. This is the blotting paper, it isn't full actually (terrible picture, sorry) blotting paper still has space on its sides haha. It has been almost 4 hours...still fine with me :)
Whew! Finally home. I am now feeling the "lagkit" factor not because of the foundation but because of the weather basically. Ang init super, plus the smoke, dust etc. We always feel that way after a day's work right? But mind you guys, coverage is still there! I am inlove with this product. It actually became better after oxidizing. (Time check: 9:00 PM, almost 14 hours after application)
Redness still ok! (around the nose), veins are still not visible.. This is amazing! Oil is there of course... well I'm still working on reducing my oiliness :)
PROS:
I think it stays true to its claims, giving you flawless finish, it is very light weigh and is LOOOOOOOONG wearing :) 14-hours is no joke considering the weather and my activity for the day! It also has a huge array of shades...I think anyone can find their match, plus, I also heard that they have a formulation for dry skin too (very universal) i'm just not sure if that is locally available here in the Philippines. I personally think that P825.00 is not bad for all its goodness. I travel often because of work that is why I am a BB cream fanatic, just cause it bb's are light weight and easier to apply, but this foundation is an exception. It actually feels like a tinted moisturizer, it does not smudge, it does not cake... this is definitely be a holy grail!
CONS:
It does not have a pump, anything with a pump (packaging) is a plus point. Some may not be able to spend P825.00 for a foundation, I mean priority wise.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
This might actually be part of my foundation routine. I love it! I definitely recommend this to anyone especially those with oily to combination skin. Effect to oil control is still questionable but it is better than the others that I have tried. It just stays on! Yes my friends, if you have the means or if you're still doubting whether to buy it or not...just DO IT. Buy and try it, it is worth it I tell you :)
Hope this is helped you guys, I have more products to review and share :) Always remember...BE BEAUTIFUL, BE YOU! :) <3
