Happy New Year!!! Let's welcome 2016 with a bang! This will all be our year, I just know :D
Starting the year guilt free and clean, today's blog will be about my latest fantastic discovery - the BIORE Cleansing Oil Makeup Remover.
I stepped up with my makeup routine meaning I should also set the same phase with my skin care regimen. Having a clean and glowing face always beats a good makeup look in my opinion. A well-taken-cared-of skin works good even if you don't use ceiling-high expensive makeup items. Your bare face is the asset! And it will all start with cleaning.
There is a lot of facial washes meant for everyone's need. Whitening, anti-aging, detoxifying...name it! I particularly love those that gently exfoliates, but I thought, something is missing, I am not cleaning my face enough.
I layer my face everyday with at least 4 "chemicals". I start with the primer, then foundation, then concealer (sometimes), then the trio - bronzer, blush and highlight then the finishing powder. Adding up the pollutants - dust, smoke and on a rough day, there is sweat and oils (lots and lots)...there is a lot going on! My face might just breakdown if I don't step up with my skin care routine...I might not be cleaning enough. I need a good, gentle makeup remover.
I just have one makeup remover, the Etude House Eye and Lip Makeup Remover. Honestly, I am a bit disappointed with its performance because it couldn't remove waterproof mascaras! It came to a point where I'd loose few strands everytime i'll try to remove it - oh and mind you guys, I have "lash scarcity" at the moment I can't afford to loose any :( So yes, I am deperate.
Then I came across one YT video from the local Youtuber Anne Clutz feature Biore oil makeup remover and the Biore wet wipes counterpart - it was an answered prayer! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kjHpf-O8gbU)
P.S. I will try my best to "demonstrate" and show you how to use the product and its effect, well not really demonstrate because I can't "film" it, I'll just describe for the most part :) Alright?
Where to buy: Watsons Outlet and Mall Department Stores
Price: P299.00
Amount: 150ml
Scent: Perfection! Hahaha it smells so nice, floral fresh scent with a hint of fruitiness..it's weird! But I love it.
Application: Basically, it's an oil because it claims to remove oil based (meaning waterproof) makeup products. It's an oil that turns into a white soap-like liquid once washed with water. It's amazing. It applies very smoothly (exactly like applying oil in your face). What I love about this product is its gentleness. It does not sting, especially in the eye area. I am specifically looking for a makeup remover that would be strong enough to remove all the waterproof products but gentle at the same time that it won't stings.
Packaging: A+++ also for the packaging. It is contained in a sturdy bottle that has a pump, meaning you can get significant amount of the product even without actually looking at the bottle. Think about it, when you're rubbing you're eyes with the cleansing oil and you want more...you'll be able to get more easier, unlike if it's contained in a tube or squeeze container. Even if you're not directly looking at the bottle, you'll be able to get more. I hope you get me guys hahaha. Plus it has a pump cap.
Claims/Product Description: Instantly dissolves stubborn makeup, even waterproof mascara! This oil-based makeup remover from Japan has excellent cleansing ability that makes makeup removal so quick and easy! Suitable for medium to heavy makeup users, it effectively dissolves waterproof mascara while lifting away dirt and impurities. Unlike typical makeup remover, it does not emulsify upon contact with water thus maintaining its optimal cleansing performance at all times.
- No greasy and sticky feeling on skin after use
- Gentle and mild on skin
- Refreshing fragrance
Hmm! Promising, let's see :)
I think the packaging is cute...is it just me? :)
Ohh and it also claims, they're number 1 in Japan. Cool.
Perfect for travelling since you don't have to worry if it would get everywhere :) It has a pump and it has a cap.
This is the usual makeup I wear, I have been wearing this since 7:00 AM and it's now 7:00 PM. Chaka na! I have waterproof mascara on (Covergirl Lash Blast Volume) I had trouble removing this with my previous makeup remover. I had several fall outs. That freaks me out seriously! Konting konti nalang lashes ko, mababawasan pa :(
It is basically an oil, don't apply this with wet hands cause it dissolves fast with water. Put one pump on your face then massage. you'll see your eye makeup and foundation dissolve right before you! Haha it's amazing.
Then this happens when you put on water. The oil dissolves into a facewash-y thing. Like you just applied facial foam. The substance is very thin too and the BEST PART? It does not sting your eyes. Really really gentle.
I'm sorry for the very awkward shot, I don't know if you can see, but my eyebrow powder already dissolved, the waterproof mascara dissolved too and actually transferred in my under eyes. Bongga!
HAAAA fresh! As you can see, Mascara all gone! Lipstick stain also gone! It does not irritate my skin and my eyes, no sting whatsoever. It dissolves in water so naturally.
Final thoughts: I love this product. I have never been more satisfied with removing makeup...if that even make sense. I've been using this for 3 weeks now and I'm still amazed. This has immediately became part of my night skin care routine. It's definitely a must try both for the light and heavy makeup users.
Never ever forget to remove your make up and perform thorough facial cleaning before going to bed cause makeup residue and all the pollutants you acquired all throughout the day will clog out your pores causing different skin problems like pimples, white/blackheads and all those nasty things so yes, prevention is always better than cure. Dermatologist and all that shiz ain't cheap guys. Start early :)
Lots and lots of love,
Raisa
